Leadership Team
Charles Matthews brings over 11 years of generator industry knowledge to GenSolutions. He also has a strong financial background that drives the company’s smart approach to operations. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Accounting and earned his MBA in Finance from Rice University.
Before starting GenSolutions, Charles held high-level financial roles at energy and energy trading companies. This gave him unique insight into the critical power needs of industrial operations. His vision of honest, value-driven service continues to guide how GenSolutions approaches every client relationship.
Charles lives the company’s straightforward philosophy. He believes in giving customers “the straight truth with straightforward language.”

Our Story
The GenSolutions story began in 2016 with a simple but powerful idea: customers deserve better from their generator service provider. Four industry professionals, led by Charles Matthews, saw that too many companies in the generator industry focused on flashy marketing rather than real problem-solving.
“We’re not flashy,” explains Matthews. “We just put our head down and work to solve problems.”
The company’s founding principle centered on two key elements that were often missing in the industry: great customer service and smart money management. This combination allows GenSolutions to respond faster than competitors while keeping prices fair through careful cost control.
The early challenge was reaching enough customers in the first year. But the team’s commitment to answering every customer call and providing real value quickly built a loyal client base. Today, GenSolutions serves water utilities, hospitals, retail facilities, construction companies, and electricians throughout the Houston and Lake Charles markets
